Assessment in Organizational Behavior Management: Applications in Human Service Settings

Organizational Behavior Management (OBM) is the application of behavioral principles to organizational problems such as productivity, safety, training, and quality deficits. Although formal assessment of a target behavior has a solid empirical base and is now considered “best-practice” in applied behavior analysis, formal assessment in OBM has not been emphasized and is therefore less common in practice. The purpose of this talk is to introduce audience members to assessment practices in OBM, review some recent research in this area, and illustrate how assessment of employee performance might be useful in human service settings.

Dr. Wilder is an associate professor in the School of Psychology at the Florida Institute of Technology (Fl Tech).  He received his Ph.D. in behavior analysis from the University of Nevada in 1998.  He then completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Pediatrics and the Department of Behavioral Psychology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine / Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, MD.  Before coming to FL Tech, Dave was an assistant professor of psychology at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA for four years and served on the Board of Directors of the California Association for Behavior Analysis.
